San Joaquin General Hospital (SJGH) – Department of Otolaryngology, French Camp, CA.

Attending Physician


Beginning in May of 2017, I received an appointment as an Attending Physician at SJGH to perform clinical and surgical duties with a focus on maxillofacial trauma and the entire spectrum of general ENT clinic and call coverage. This position allows me to care for a large and diverse patient population with access to robust clinical and surgical volumes.

Elected to this post on the Academy’s Board of Governors to help coordinate legislative action campaigns and organize grassroots member involvement. Emphasis has been on maintaining an active lobbying position during the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and communicating about the impact of the ACA on patients, physicians, and healthcare organizations.

Worked as a physician rounder to assist in the implementation of a new electronic medical records system at the hospital site. Received training and in the use of the Cerner-based CareConnect electronic medical record system and worked in a tutorial and support position to aide physicians during the “go live” period of roll out. 40 hrs/week.

Worked in all aspects of local campaign organization including: fundraising, recruitment, training, staff management, and coordination with local and national organizations. Responsibilities as a director included managing over 50 employees, hiring new employees, managing payroll, and overseeing all office logistics. Helped to raise over $150,000 for the Democratic National Committee. 60 hours/week.

Working as a research fellow under Michael Friedman, MD in his practice at the Advanced Center for Specialty Care. Responsibilities include coordinating and developing new research projects in the fields of sinus, sleep, and endocrine disorders. As a fellow I will be tasked with writing and developing original research protocols, manuscripts, and preparing presentations for the yearly AAOHNS meeting as well as other national and international meetings. 40 hours/week.

Preclinical Summer Preceptorship


Worked daily in both clinical and basic science research
activities. Took part in daily rounds, surgical procedures, and aided in patient care. Helped prepare presentations for research consortiums and participated in the creation of lectures for resident training. Co-authored manuscript on neuropathic pain without nerve injury. 80 hours/week.
